I am writing in opposition to House Bill 173. This bill would remove voter agency from town meetings. Voters at town meeting should have the right to decide as they will with any warrant article, that is the nature of the direct democracy we treasure. If petitioners are concerned about the fate of their warrant article, they should turn people out to town meeting to support it. Thank you for your time and consideration.
