Apart from the fact that legislators are in support of feline torture, there is the matter that they, themselves, wish to carry guns for self defense. Same principle applies to cats. Claws cannot mortally would anyone as firearms can. They were designed to be able to defend themselves, not in consideration of modern day furniture. There are infinite ways to manage claws without torturing them as any human would be if the same techniques applied to them. This is a type of torture used for millenia on humans and the thinking here by some NH legislators is just as retrograde.
