Defend the Guard would be a great benefit for the state of New Hampshire. Far too long has the Federal Government used national guard units in overseas conflicts without a declaration of war, leading to forever wars, corruption, debt, and the expansion of the Military-Industrial Complex. This is unconstitutional and goes against every intention of our founders. Our nation was founded in rebellion to taxes levied on the populace because of a war for overseas interest. The men who fought for our freedom understood that war was a messy business and could easily come to control the state. Ignoring their safeguards diminishes our liberty and makes it impossible to uphold our constitution. If the federal government will not do what is right, it is not just the right, but the duty, of the states to stand in defiance of an oppressive state.
