Lori Korzen | Support HB127

Lori Korzen 788 Kent Street Berlin, NH 03570 Lori.Korzen@leg.state.nh.us January 13, 2025 I am writing to express my strong support for HB127-FN, which proposes to extend the closing date of September 30th for the OHRV trails on the Connecticut River Headwaters property until the second Monday in October, known as Columbus Day. Currently, all other OHRV trails in Coös County remain accessible to the public, even during federal holidays until Columbus Day. This extension would provide an invaluable opportunity for trail users, particularly OHRV enthusiasts, to fully enjoy the trails and the natural resources our county has to offer. The anticipated economic impact of this two-week extension could reach millions, benefiting our hotels, restaurants, and local businesses. The costs associated with maintaining the trails during this extended period would be minimal compared to the substantial economic benefits. Visitors who come to explore the trails will contribute to our local economy by purchasing food, equipment, and souvenirs, thereby boosting revenue in Coös County. The Connecticut River Headwaters property is a stunning area that offers recreational opportunities and serves as a gateway to other trails that remain open until Columbus Day. By extending the trail access, we not only enhance the experience for OHRV enthusiasts but also position our region as a premier outdoor destination. In closing, I urge you to consider the significant benefits of extending the closing date for the OHRV trails on the Connecticut River Headwaters property to Columbus Day. This decision could greatly enhance our economy and improve the quality of life for all Coös County residents. Respectfully, Lori Korzen State Representative Coös County District 7
