AN ACT relative to the inter-agency data sharing for the purpose of distributing summer electronic benefit transfer (EBT) benefits.

Having considered the same, the committee recommends that the Bill

OUGHT TO PASS WITH AMENDMENT

BY A VOTE OF: 4-0

AMENDMENT # 2026-1748s

Senator Tara Reardon

For the Committee

HB 1727 would require the New Hampshire Departments of Education and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services to enter into an agreement allowing the Department of Education to share student addresses with DHHS to help administer the federal Summer EBT program. While there were concerns about the changing of federal forms with the original bill, the amended legislation works around these issues by creating a separate system for automatic enrollment into Summer EBT programs for eligible students, provided their parent or guardian do not opt out.
