AMENDMENT # 2026-1732s
Senator Pat Long
For the Committee
HB 1234 bans filing for candidacy in multiple incompatible school district offices. The committee amendment aims to address concerns that certain school officials might be unable to serve on certain boards. For instance, a school board member who is about to retire should still be eligible to run for a budget committee seat if the election occurs after their retirement date, but they must file before retiring.
