Senator David Rochefort

For the Committee

This bill would enable municipalities to adopt a requirement for towns to notify property owners of assessment changes. The committee notes that taxpayers already have the right to appeal assessments, and imposing this additional duty on town offices might raise administrative costs and paperwork, potentially diverting resources from essential services and increasing financial burdens for taxpayers. Consequently, the committee recommends Interim Study on HB 1581.
