AN ACT relative to ingredients in restaurant-prepared meals.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Statement of Purpose. The general court recognizes the potentially life-threatening consequences of allergies to certain foods and that dining in a restaurant heightens this concern. Therefore, the general court hereby requires that restaurants list ingredients in meals and make such list available for inspection by diners.
2 New Subdivision; Display of Ingredients. Amend RSA 155 by inserting after section 44 the following new subdivision:
155:44-a Posting of Ingredients. All commercial eating establishments or any place other than a private residence where food is served for consumption on the premises shall post in the kitchen of such establishment the ingredients, including preservatives, of all meals served and shall make such list available for inspection by diners.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
