STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand
AN ACT relative to the name of the department of fish and game.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
42:1 Findings and Purpose. The general court hereby finds that the name of the fish and game department has served the state well for many years. The agency has had its present name since at least 1935 and any changes or additions in the duties of the department since that time do not warrant making a costly change to the name. The current name of the fish and game department is appropriate, fits the needs of the state and its residents, and reflects the fact that the department is funded by fees paid by hunters, anglers, and trappers.
42:2 Fish and Game; Department Name Stated. Amend RSA 206:1 to read as follows:
206:1 Commission Created; Name of Department. There shall be [a] an agency of the state to be known hereafter as the fish and game department under a commission to be known as the fish and game commission.
42:3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
