For the Committee

HB 1126 would repeal the requirement for certification to perform residential mold assessments. However, due to concerns about potential unintended consequences from removing the existing statute, it was determined that maintaining the current framework is the best course of action. This is because certification is conducted by national entities rather than the state, and that this ought to be maintained. Additionally, there was an absence of issues under the current requirements.
