HB 1162 extends the final report deadline for the commission on Holocaust and genocide studies from November 1, 2026, to November 1, 2029. This extension gives the Commission time necessary to continue vital ongoing work. This work includes a recent survey of teachers across the state, the collection of primary source materials relevant to genocide studies, as well as collaboration with partners across the state such as the Department of Education and the Cohen Center.
